Located right next to Chinatown Complex, this ocean blue building is hard to miss. Tiong Shian Porridge is a local restaurant that serves mainly porridge dishes in claypot fashion. You'll be impressed by the generous amount of ingredients; prawns, chicken, pork, liver, fish, century eggs and more!
Their porridge is known to lean more towards the watery side, warming you up with notes of ginger and white pepper. Order some drinks on the side from the neighbouring stall, all under one roof! Enjoy beer along with your Dry Chilli Claypot. In contrast to most frog porridge stores which only operate at night, Tiong Shian Porridge Centre opens from morning until night!

My friend and I had porridge as breakfast, the Singaporean way to start our morning. Apparently, it is also bustling with patrons at night.
Piping hot, bubbling porridge delivered to your table within seconds of ordering! I have to admit... it was my first time eating frog meat... The fact that they had cut the hands and feet of the frog off made it slightly less intimidating. As I bit into the meat, I was confused; Is this fish? Or chicken? Honestly, I can't believe I'd been missing out for so long... Absolutely tender! Cured my friend's hangover in seconds. My claypot was scrapped clean before I knew it. (Although one portion is enough for 2 people!) Had to order the Dried Chilli Pork Liver too! Perfect hint of spiciness. I'm determined to visit again for supper one day!
