Conveniently located along New Bridge Road (and a 5-minute walk from Clarke Quay MRT station), Wanna Cuppa opens seven days a week, offering a range of food and drinks - and even a High Tea menu every weekend. The bistro was also featured as one of the top cafes in Singapore by Wine & Dine Magazine. The garden-themed cafe with a 1920s vibe is a welcoming site, with potted plants and flower pots scattered around the Gatsby-like surrounding.

The menu is predominately Western fare, with dishes including the classic Fish Strips and Chips, Seafood Bowl and Beef Stew. Of course, with a name that signals their coffee selections, they use award-winning Signature Blend coffee beans from Justin Metcalf World Barista Judge. Their tea selections are quite fancy, offering gourmet tea options ranging from Matcha Latte and Green Tea Lychee to Tropical Rooibos and Butterfly Pea Flower Latte - probably a good place if you fancy a cup of tea than coffee.

Of course the first thing I had was a cuppa - a hot cappuccino to start the dining experience. I enjoyed the drink - a smoky aroma with the right notes of bitter and sweet. Most importantly, I would say the brew had full-bodied taste overall. I also ordered the Tom Yum Seafood Spaghetti, a rich spicy-sour sauce poured over the al dente spaghetti.

Portion-wise, I would say it’s definitely enough for one person, and served with prawns, squid and mushrooms. One could hope for a little more ingredients but I was happy with what was served on my plate. It was more sour than spicy, and had the familiar herby taste if the popular Thai flavour. I would probably head back for their desserts the next time.
