Previously, Qiu Rong Ban Mian was located at Roxy Square II for around 11 years before moving to their current location at the famous Old Airport Road Food Centre. Many stalls don’t make their own noodles anymore but here, they still do with a noodle machine. The couple aren’t Singaporean and actually originate from Fu Zhou and arrived in Singapore 20 years ago. Prior to their humble ban mian stall they worked in various restaurants which is where they slowly picked up the culinary skills that they have today.

I’m not a huge ban mian eater but the ones here from Qiu Rong Ban Mian changed my mind. As the noodles are handmade in the store by the owners, they have a unique, uneven texture that you can get only get from handmade noodles. These were doused in a hot savoury soup and came with ingredients like vegetables, egg, ikan bilis and minced meat. I was honestly expecting the soup here to be too salty but it was actually just nice. I also appreciate how generous the portion is and I felt very full and content after my meal!
