The Poke Theory was founded by siblings Joey and Vanessa Lee, who had a childhood dream of setting up an eatery together.
They eventually decided on poke after Joey chanced upon the dish when was on a journalism internship in Los Angeles in 2014. The siblings spent several years coming up with the recipes before opening their first store in Telok Ayer in 2016. Over the years, they've opened several more outlets across Singapore in places like Suntec City, 111 Somerset and Tanglin Mall.
The flexible menu allows diners to choose a fixed bowl or DIY their own poke bowl. Protein options include salmon, tuna and chicken and there are a variety of toppings and sauces to jazz up your dish. A light bowl costs $11.90 while a regular bowl costs $14.90.
When it comes to healthy but delicious food in Singapore, The Poke Theory comes to mind. I love their customisable bowls which give me the freedom to put whatever I want in my food!
When I visited the Suntec City outlet on a Sunday afternoon, it was pretty quiet and I managed to get a seat fast.
I usually opt for salmon as my protein and have it with either rice or soba. I also love how there are such a wide variety of toppings to add to your bowl and I am always spoilt for choice! My go-to options are pineapples, tomatoes and wakame.
Apart from poke bowls, I really enjoy their acai bowls which are a great way to beat the Singapore heat.
