Prawn Noodle stalls are a dime a dozen in Singapore so it's easy to miss out a gem like Wei Zhong Qi Prawn Noodle.
It's managed by an elderly hawker and the stall has been here for decades. The stall starts early at 7am in the morning so the hawker has to start their day even earlier to get ready for a busy day of cooking.
The stall's menu is simple and they only have five menu items -- pork rib prawn noodles, pork rib noodles, prawn noodle, prawn noodle normal and prawn noodle special. These are either served dry or in soup.
I visited during lunch on a weekday afternoon and there was no queue.
My go-to order is always dry prawn noodles with a side of prawn broth and my food was expertly and swiftly prepared by the elderly hawker -- I didn't have to wait more than five minutes!
My prawn noodles were delicious and came with a generous amount of fishcakes, prawns and pork ribs. I appreciate prawn noodle spots that give meaty ribs and the ones here didn't disappoint. My only gripe were that the prawns were a little small but they were good nonetheless.
Also absolutely loved the broth! Very aromatic and full-bodied.
