This bak kut teh shop started in 1964 by the owner's father. Their specialty is authentic Teochew style bak kut teh. Featured on magazines such as Cuisine & Wine Scene, and Streats.
Upon ordering the dish, it is freshly poured from the pot. The dish was served with homemade Bak Kut Teh with whole cloves of garlic and tender pork bones, white rice, a yummy mix of shredded cabbage & carrots tossed in a secret sweet sauce, as well as cut youtiao (the Chinese version of a baguette), all for $9.20. To my surprise, the broth was extremely peppery (to my liking), spicy, as well as a tad tangy, it was quite addictive! The succulent pork was a bit dry..although tender and falling off the bone. Each serving is poured fresh and topped-up by the very friendly and welcoming staff. Generally a pleasant meal!
