The stall is currently owned by a lady called Tay Swee Eng and in 2013, a friend had introduced her to the owner who was looking for someone to help with handling the cooking. After the first owner retired, she took over the stall. Initially, her laksa turned out too salty and cloying and she later learnt that this was because she leaves the gravy to boil for too long. Instead of being demoralised by negative feedback, she uses these to improve her recipe and now tastes the laksa regularly to ensure that the taste is palatable for her customers. It took her 2 years to perfect her bowl of laksa and you can clearly taste that.
Apart from laksa, the shop also dishes out mee rebus and these are the only two items on their menu. However, I was feeling laksa so I opted for that. A concern that I have with laksa is that the broth gets a tad bit too cloying, which occasionally prevents me from finishing the entire bowl. However, the broth here was surprisingly light and the laksa gravy is drinkable. Each bowl comes chock full of laksa bee hoon, an egg, If you enjoy richer bowls of laksa, this may not be up your alley but to me, it was a pretty good bowl of laksa.
