Before Tanglin Halt Market was built, this stall was a food cart along the roadside, ran by the father of the current owner of this stall. The son used to study abroad in the United Kingdom, but decided to give that up to protect his parents' Lor Mee stall. He learnt every detail behind making their Lor Mee from his parents, serving the same menu for over 50 years. After closing the stall, he spends more than 3 hours to prepare the soup and ingredients for the next day. Even though he prepares excess portions, the Lor Mee is so overwhelmingly popular that it is sometimes sold out by 12.30pm. Compared to other stalls, they use more herbs, minimal MSG, and the noodles are boiled to be especially chewy. Their son and his wife are running the stall, and his father comes daily to check the taste and help out.

Signature Dry Noodle, Signature Lor Mee
I had always wanted to come here! The first time I came, I saw the long queue in front of this stall and it was sold out before my turn to order... This time, I came before lunch time to get the Signature Lor Mee for $4. It contained fried fish, chicken, spring onions, and minced garlic. The noodles were thick and cut straightly, super chewy!! The fired fish did not smell fishy, thoroughly marinated! The minced garlic is dunked right before serving, and it went so well with the Lor Mee!! The sweet and spicy chilli also paired well. Do add black vinegar! Totally understand why everyone is raving for this Lor Mee now!!
