Let's share! |
Serving up hot plates of food - not just pipping hot food for meals, but literally meat, dishes and rice on a hotplate. So definitely a comfort food during a rainy or chilled weather.
There are a range of options at this stall, from chicken, to beef, to pork, seafood and even mixed portions, so that you can try both at the same time. Most of them comes with rice, and I guess it's nice to kind of 'fry' your rice on your hotplate when it's served.
Another nice element to this dining experience is that it's located at one of the newer hawker centres in Singapore, a more high-tech and cleaner layout. All the stalls there also comes with a buzzer, which allows you to do your things or wait at the table.
The stallowner is friendly, and because there aren't many people there, I didn't have to wait long for it.
It's not a trend, but having a plate of hotplate does whet your appetite for lunch or dinner. But because Singapore does get quite hot and humid, so there aren't many people queuing up for this stall. As this is an open-aired area, so the sunlight does gets in your way at times.
I ordered the half-half option and I have to say that it was way too much for one person's share. I not only couldn't finish my rice, I couldn't even finish the meat slices. As the meat is covered in a gravy-like sauce, it's a little too salty for my liking. It is, however great with the white rice. So do eat them together instead.
I enjoyed the new hawker centre, and the variety of food it offers. I would go back to this stall to try the other food options, but it probably won't be my priority.
