Fins & Feathers has been around for almost a decade and the owners previously did F&B in Hong Kong before setting up shop in Singapore.
They had initially wanted to open a restaurant but had difficulties finding a good location to do so. Eventually, they opened a hawker stall instead at Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre instead. Now, they have also decided to expand and open a stall at the spanking new hawker Fernvale Hawker Centre!
The name Fins & Feathers was inspired by their stall's specialty dishes, which are fish and chicken. They also take huge pride in their British-style fish and chips, which is served at a more affordable price point as compared to what you can get in restaurants.
Here, they have a variety of other dishes as well like steak, pastas and more!
Fins & Feathers has an extensive menu, so you bet I was left spoilt for choice!
I eventually decided on their Steak and Fries because the mark of a good western stall is how well they cook their steak.
When I went around dinnertime on a Sunday night, the hawker centre was understandably rather packed, so I had to wait around 20 minutes for the food.
While ordering, I was also given the option to choose the doneness of my steak (rare for a hawker stall, no pun intended!) I chose medium rare and wasn't expecting much (usually hawkers will just cook it well done to be safe) but the steak really came medium rare.
The meat was extremely juicy, just like how I liked it. It could do with a bit more sear but other than that, I was impressed! Also really enjoyed their fries which were crispy and well-salted.
