Craving for Malaysian food but don't want to cross the border? Then Malaysia Chiak! Is the solution to your problem. The food hall's special concept allows you to sample a variety of different popular Malaysia dishes and brands all in one place. These are separated into their own small stalls, just like a food court, and you can pick and choose a combination of what you desire to eat. The concept is also the scaled-down version of the popular food atrium Malaysia Boleh, which similarly houses multiple Malaysian food dishes and brands under one roof. The design of the restaurant is also meant to make diners feel like they are in a nostalgic yet modern street stall setting, similar to what you can find in Malaysia itself.
Signature
Char Kway Teow, Char Siew Noodle, Claypot Mee Tai Mak, Claypot Sesame Chicken
I love Malaysian food and before the pandemic hit, I used to cross the border pretty often to satisfy my Malaysian food craving. So, I was excited to know that I could pick out multiple of my favourite dishes at once here at Malaysian Chiak.
Spoilt for choice, I eventually settled on the Curry Cutlet Curry Rice and Kolo Mee for lunch. I especially enjoyed the Curry Cutlet Curry Rice. For such dishes, the messier the better and everything on my plate was doused in a generous serving of curry. The kolo mee also tasted like nostalgia and featured springy instant noodles with an assortment of ingredients.
What I also really liked was the environment, which was modern yet nostalgic and very clean. Highly recommend this place for people who want some Malaysian food!
