Hidden away in the food court of Great World City is Viet Taste, which is situated in the newly-renovated Food Junction food court.
It isn't hard to spot the stall — it has one of the longest queues there. The stall is apparently also run by Vietnamese staff members so you can expect the food to be rather authentic!
The menu is pretty extensive as well. Expect classic Vietnamese goodies such as Stir Fried Chicken w Lemon Grass, Ha Noi Pho Beef Noodle Soup and Viet Sandwich Pate w Pork or Grilled Chicken. Coffee lovers will also be pleased to know that they sell authentic Vietnamese coffee here!
Despite me coming rather late on a weekday evening (around 8pm), the stall had an extremely long queue.
Thankfully, this moves along pretty quickly and I managed to place my order and get all my food under 15 minutes.
I was definitely spoilt for choice but eventually settled for the Ha Noi Pho Beef Noodle Soup, Viet Sandwich with Pork and spring rolls.
The beef soup was so comforting and good! The broth the al dente noodles were doused in was light but flavourful at the same time. The beef was also surprisingly tender and juicy.
The sandwich was excellent as well, as good as a classic Banh Mi. The bread was crisp and nicely held together an assortment of vegetables and pork. This was so addictive and I could not stop eating it!
For a nice centrepiece dish, I really recommend the spring rolls. These are handmade and were so good. I preferred the fresh spring rolls because they tasted more refreshing!
