Delibowl was founded by Singaporean Jerry Liao, who also owns other famous dining concepts like Nuodle, Shiok Burger and Hui Oriental.
The eatery, which was established in 2017, specialises in Sichuan cuisine and their motto is "One Bowl to Satisfy".
The extensive menu features well-loved Chinese dishes like Mapo Tofu, Saliva Chicken, Stewed Beef Brisket with Tomato and Sichuan-style Fried Eggplant. These can be enjoyed with a bowl of rice. If you're dining in a group, you can also order several dishes to share.
Great news for our Muslim friends -- the food here is halal, so you can enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine without worries! Currently, Delibowl has two outlets at Funan Mall and Paya Lebar Square.
When I visited the eatery late on a Sunday evening, it was still crowded but thankfully I managed to find a seat.
Their menu left me spoilt for choice because everything sounded so good! But my dining companion and I eventually settled for the Sour Soup Fish Slices, Cumin Beef and Saliva Chicken.
When you order a set here, you can also get your choice of side and a drink.
The food exceeded my expectations and was both well-executed and homely. The Sour Soup Fish Slices was my favourite-- the fish slices were fresh and bouncy while the soup was spicy, savoury and extremely addictive. The Cumin Beef was also well done and the beef was extremely tender and well-marinated.
The food is all pretty spicy so if you love some heat in your food, this is the place to go!
