Jumbo Seafood was established in 1987 and their first outlet, which is now their flagship outlet, was at East Coast Seafood Centre.

They soon grew popular for their iconic Singapore Chilli Crab and Black Pepper Crab, which some foreigners even travel to Singapore to try.

Over the years, the chain has won many awards such as Singapore Tatler’s Best of Singapore 2018, Excellent Service Award 2017, TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2017 and the Ctrip Food Award 2016.

They've also expanded not just in Singapore, but worldwide, with outlets in places like China.

In Singapore alone, they have six outlets at East Coast Seafood Centre, Riverside Point, Dempsey Hill, Ion Orchard, Jewel Changi Airport and The Riverwalk.

My family and I have been fans of Jumbo Seafood for many years and have always frequented the flagship outlet at East Coast Seafood Centre.

Was curious to see how their other outlets measured up and headed over to their Jewel one.

The menu here is pretty similar and had classics such as chili crab, black pepper crab, fried baby squid and hotplate tofu.

I ordered the black pepper crab, fried rice, cod fish and tofu. The portion size is good enough for two to three pax!

The black pepper crab was phenomenal, as usual. I haven't eaten it in years and trying it again after so long reminded me of how good it is.

It was my first time trying their fried rice and I really enjoyed it! Plenty of work hei and they were pretty generous with the seafood bits.

Another new dish for me is the cod. I feel like this could be more popular as it was really good. The cod had a buttery consistency and melted away in my mouth.
