While the main restaurant specialises in an assortment of Chinese dishes like skewers, tze char dishes and soups, their outpost at the bustling Market Street Hawker Centre specialises in just fish soups — perfect for the health-conscious office crowd!
They have sliced fish, fried fish and mixed fish soup. Do be warned that the queues can get very long, especially during lunchtime. So, if you want to skip the crowd, come before or slightly after peak hour!
I came right smack in the middle of peak period so I found myself stuck in a 10 minute queue. But my food was prepared pretty quickly and I got it in no time.
I ordered the mix soup (sliced and fried fish) and as this doesn't come with rice, I had to order that on the side.
I can see why the food here is so popular! The fish is one of the better ones I've tried and was fleshy and bouncy. The soup, while clear, was also surprisingly flavourful and it had a good balance of sweetness and savouriness.
