The stall is owned by a couple, Mohammed Noorman and Puti Andam, who first crossed paths when they worked as cabin crew in the same airline.

Puti is from Padang, Indonesia, while Noorman is a Singaporean who has grown up working at his family’s two-generation-owned hawker stall.

During their honeymoon at Lombok, Indonesia, they had a taste of ayam taliwang, which is a popular Indonesian local grilled chicken dish. They were so impacted by the dish that they decided to bring it to Singapore so locals enjoy it too.

After plenty of experimenting for six months, they finally came up with the perfect recipes and were confident in setting up their own hawker stall and currently have a few outlets islandwide.

As much as I love Indonesian food, I've yet to try Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang.

I previously tried the Nasi Lemak Ayam Cube Jio from their other outlet at Yishun and had adored it so I was curious to see how their signature dish would fare.

The employee manning the stall told me that this was on the spicier side and despite having a low spice tolerance, I was keen to see how much spicer this would be.

And boy, was it very spicy.

Here, a tender, succulent chicken thigh is coated in a spicy chili sauce which really packs a punch. However, it still gave room for you to enjoy the flavours of the chicken. It's definitely a good option for people who love spicy food!
