The owners of this stall are a pair of brothers who took over the business from their father. The stall was originally situated at Liang Seah, like its name says, and they’ve actually only been at their current location — Golden Mile Food Centre — for four years. The stall has a very rich history and actually has been around since 1946 — that’s over 75 years to perfect the recipe! All the food is also cooked on the spot before you and I watched one of the brothers prepare my noodles. They are very nice and you can tell that they are very proud of their history.
If you prefer prawn noodles with a light soup base, this is an ideal spot to get it. However, despite being light, it isn’t dilute and has a prominent umami flavour thanks to the prawn element. I got the prawn and pork ribs noodles which come with a generous amount of prawn and pork ribs. What truly surprised me was how good the pork ribs were! Uber tender and fall-off-the bone. It definitely added a nice meaty touch to the dish. Overall, a very well-rounded dish that I can definitely see myself returning for.
