Takagi Ramen was founded in 2015 and had a dream to bring authentic, quality ramen to Singaporeans.

The founder, Takagi-san, who came from Tsuruga, Japan, wanted to bring ramen back to its roots and dropped out of law school to pursue this passion. The brand is run by her and her husband.

Today, they have spread to have eight outlets and counting in Singapore.

Some of the popular ramen on their menu are the Awabi Shoyu Ramen and Black Tonkotsu. All of the ramen here is under $10, which is rare to find in Singapore.

But does that mean the ramen here is low-quality? Absolutely not! The ramen here is so good that it is honestly comparable to some of the more expensive restaurants.

Signature

Awabi Shoyu Ramen , Tantanmen

On a budget but want some good ramen? Takagi Ramen is one place to check out.

I visited on a weekday evening and there was not much crowd so thankfully, I was seated fast. I placed my order using a touch-screen device near the door and my ramen was prepared pretty quickly.

I had the tonkotsu and the broth was surprisingly rich and creamy. The noodles were also al dente with a good springiness. The char siu was also up to standard and was easy to chew on.

I also got the Mazemen (dry ramen) which comes without soup. Nonetheless, this was delicious and a nice change from the usual soupy ramens that I am used to. You can also order sides to go with your meal such as gyoza.
