Ex-lawyer Madeline quit her job as a lawyer to open a coffee stall at Amoy Street Food Centre in hopes to help generate income for displaced refugees in Thailand. The social enterprise serves up special blended roaster coffees and homemade brioche loafs. Those coloured logos stuck to each cup helps the less fortunate in poorer countries.

From hot favourites like Americano, Mocha and Latte to interesting options like Honey Butter Latte and Hot Matcha Latte, you can’t go wrong with a cuppa that is suppose to brighten your day. Apart from the beverages, don’t forget your slice of home-baked brioche loafs, made by Madeline herself. Currently there are two rotating flavours: Chocolate Babka and Cinnamon Brioche, a perfect little snack after lunch.

Brioche of The Day

For such an affordable price, I didn’t expect it to be madly great or anything, but I was definitely pleased with my cup of Iced Latte. For a hot weather, I am one of those who will opt for a cold option and perhaps compromise on the true form of what coffee should be. While true coffee aficionados will disagree with me, I actually think iced options do give an interesting taste of the caffeine drinks.

I am no researcher on coffee but I do call myself a coffee addict. The iced latte had a good strong coffee flavour with heavy notes to bring out that caffeine ‘kick’ one seeks. For the brioche slice, I had the cinnamon brioche, which was a little sweet for my liking. Definitely eat it while its hot and a good pairing with the coffee served.
