There are many hawker stalls at this Hawker Centre, Tekka Market, and to find a stall that sells noodle dishes, you bet there's going to be a lot of people, especially during prime meal times.
Ming Fa Fishball Noodle has many outlets all around Singapore, so that is quite a good indicator that their noodles can be quite a staple and well-loved by Singaporeans.
This is a delightful gem for fans of local hawker fare. The stall is known for its springy fishballs and flavourful broth, making for a comforting bowl of noodles.
Like many other noodle stalls, there are toppings and ingredients that you can choose from, from the type of noodles, to the style - soup or dry. And of course, options for spicy or non-spicy. I will always say get the spicy one if you can hold your spice level.
The stallowners are rather friendly, but when it gets too busy, they don't really interact with their customers.
I didn't have to wait for too long to get my meal, but because each bowl is made to order, you'd definitely need to wait a little longer. I waited about 20 minutes, with a few people in front of me, but I thought it was quite a normal waiting time.
The portions are generous. I thought the fishballs are a standout, said to be made fresh daily, they are bouncy and packed with umami flavour.
The noodles, coated with the sauce makes it a nice kick in every mouth. The noodles are cooked nicely and pairs well with the fishballs.
If you’re in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by for a satisfying experience!
