Dover Road Kai Kee Wanton Noodles has been in the business for over 30 years.
Before moving to their current location at Alexandra Food Village, they were situated at Dover Road Market, which is where they got their name from.
The stall owners have been cooking wanton mee for years and have accumulated a wealth of experience and skills. While their specialty lies in wanton mee in dry or soup form, they also sell other dishes like dumpling mee and shredded chicken mee in dry and soup form.
Those who love their dumplings and wantons can also order it in soup with no carbs.
The stall is also easy to spot -- just look out for the long snaking queues during lunch! Come early before they sellout to avoid disappointment.
When I reached on a weekday during lunch, there was already a snaking long queue full of nearby office workers and residents.
I joined the queue and thankfully, this moved along quite fast. I got my food in about 10 minutes.
I ordered the wanton mee and the star for me was the noodles and wantons. The noodles were springy and cooked to a nice al dente so it had a good bite. The dumplings also had a good skin-to-filling ratio and were extremely juicy and meaty. Very worth the queue but I wouldn't line up for anything more than 45 minutes.
