King Avocado has been around since 1979 and before moving to Alexandra Food Village, the shop used to be at the old Orchard Road before it turned into the bustling shopping district that we know and love today. It is run by Ng Teck Guan and his wife and the duo work tirelessly every day blending up their addictive avocado juices for their customers. They import fresh fruit each day from places like Mexico and Johor and their creamy avocados are specially brought in from Mexico and Australia. Apart from their famous avocado drinks, they also sell a variety of other refreshing juices to beat Singapore’s heat.
Alexandra Village Food Centre in general is a hotspot for avocado drinks and there are at least four stalls here that offer the drink. Out of the lot, King Avocado is one of my favourites and I’ve been frequenting this shop for years alongside Mr Avocado, which some dub as the original avocado drink stall. King Avocado’s avocado shakes come with gula melaka which adds that extra tinge of sweetness to the drink, making it extra yummy. You can also opt to add chocolate into your drink, which I usually almost always do and it is an additional 50 cents.
