Having "Raffles Hotel Chef" listed on this stall owner's resume, he decided to open Xiang Jiang Soya Sauce Chicken!
Outstandingly soft yet juicy chicken generously glazed in their specialty soya sauce! A treat for the eyes and mouth. Choose between rice and noodles (mee pok, flat yellow noodles) to go with your soya sauce chicken. The chef prepares the noodles at the precise second.
Do reach the store early, as our locals who know its taste... would be clamouring to stand first in line...
Even though I reached at 10AM, this stall is the only stall in the entire Alexandria Village Food Centre that boasts a long snake-like queue at such an early hour! Ever-growing queue by the minute, looks like it's gonna take some time before I get my hands on my Soya Sauce Chicken Rice. Between SM&L, I chose the Medium portion for $4.50, very filling. (If you're not that hungry, choose the small portion!) The chicken was twice the size of a typical plate of Hainanese Chicken Rice. Very satisfied by the thick, moist chicken meat!
