For all the caffeine lovers out there, and one who looks for more traditional kind of local coffee like your 'Kopi' and 'Teh', then this stall at ABC Brickworks is one that will satisfy tastebuds.
Note that if you are up for toasts, then they will only serve it in the morning. There are set meals that serves up quite the traditional Singaporean breakfast - toasts with kaya and butter, a plate of half-boiled eggs and of course, your beverage of your choice. So if you feel a bit peckish after lunch or so, they do not sell any toasts after their breakfast hours.
However, the stall owner uncle who is the one making all your coffee and tea, he isn't the friendliest person, but he does make a mean cup of coffee. Which explains the long queues despite his short-fused temper. While there isn't any arguments per se, it is best to go in with an idea of what you want, rather than to hog the queue and think about it.
Having to find the right kind if toasts is not an easy find - considering you can say that this is quite the quintessential breakfast menu Singaporeans love.
Served with a smooth spread of butter and kaya, the kaya here tends to be a little on the sweeter side, but still has the deep flavourful taste of the coconut and pandan hint. It's a little more chunky then those spread you'll find at chain places like toast box or yakun, but I'd say the price is definitely more wallet-friendly. The bread is soft, chewy and eat them while it's warm.
For the coffee, this has to be one of the better coffee stalls that serve good traditional kopi and teh. Whether it's iced or hot, it's worth the long queue.
