Bedok 216 is more of a morning hawker centre and while Sin Ho operates in the day as a fish soup stall, they are one of the rare few stalls that also open up in the evening. However, besides fish soup, they’ll be frying up some of their delectable zi char dishes as well such as their famous har cheong gai. These are not pre-cooked and are actually freshly prepared on the spot, hence the slightly longer wait time. If you’re only here for their har cheong gai, please don’t make the mistake of coming in the morning!

I came here in the morning so there was no har cheong gai, so instead, I tried their Fried Fish w Thai style sauce and Red Grouper with Bittergourd Soup. I was very impressed with the red group soup and the thickly-sliced fish was extremely fresh and firm. It didn’t have an overbearing fishy smell either so the dish doesn’t get too cloying. If you enjoy bittergourd, this is a good option for you too. The Fried Fish w Thai style sauce was good too and the fish is fried upon order so they remain nice and crisp. However, the sauce was more sweet and sour than Thai-style, which I did enjoy, but do manage your expectations if you’re ordering the dish.
