The humble hawker who runs still stall has been making his signature bowls of curry chicken noodles for over two decades.

He has been a chef for many years and knows how to cook a variety of dishes, but decided to specialise in curry chicken noodles as no one else in Berseh Food Centre sells them. He also realises that not many people in the current generation sells this dish and he wanted to let more people try it and keep the tradition alive.

He is especially proud of his curry recipe and unique hae bee hiam paste which he has painstakingly tweaked to perfection.

The stall only sells one dish - curry chicken noodles - at three different price points for different sizes

Curry noodles is one of my favourite local dishes and it's become increasingly harder to find hawkers that specialise in it. So, I was glad to find that there is a stall at Berseh Food Centre that has decided to keep the tradition alive.

The curry noodles here come in three sizes — small, medium, large. I ordered the medium sized one which was a decent size for me.

I got to choose what noodles I want and opted for a mix of bee hoon and yellow noodles. This was accompanied by potatoes and tender slices of chicken, and doused in a rich, aromatic curry gravy.

The trick with a good bowl of curry noodles is to have the curry be light enough to drink while still maintaining its rich, spicy flavours. I feel that Sheng Kee Curry Noodles managed to nail that. Will definitely be back.
