Thankfully, it's still quite easy to come across stalls these days that hawk old-school-style soya bean and grass jelly products.
One of them is He Le at Blk 726 Clementi West Market and Food Centre.
The stall has been here for decades and you can easily tell just by looking at their storefront and how the stall is furnished.
Manning it is an elderly couple who prepare their products fresh daily.
The menu here is short but substantial with items like soya bean milk, grass jelly, Micheal Jackson (a mix of soya bean milk and grass jelly).
They also sell desserts like grass jelly and beancurd.
I visited the stall on a Saturday afternoon and when I reached it, there was only one woman in front of me.
However, after I ordered my drink, I turned around and was surprised to see a snaking queue behind me. Must be a pretty popular stall!
I got the soya bean milk and a Micheal Jackson.
The soya bean here is really good! You can tell that they use fresh beans. Do remember to give the drink a good shake before consuming so that the ingredients mix.
I also loved the Micheal Jackson! The grassjelly noodles were very chewy and added a nice bite to the drink.
