When it comes to Satay, East Coast Lagoon Hawker Centre is not short of it. There are numerous stalls here selling this delicious skewer dish but one of the more popular one is Oleh Oleh Bandung. For the uninitiated, satay is a Malay skewered meat dish similar to Japanese yakitori. This stall has satay in flavours like chicken, beef and lamb and apart from that, they also have other Malay dishes like Nasi Lemak, Mee Rebus and Mee Siam. The satay here is also cooked and prepared before your very eyes but be careful — it can get rather smokey!

I waited a good 20 minutes for the satay as they needed to cook it for us so I passed them my table number and headed back to my seat to wait. When my satay arrived, I was pleased to see that each satay stick was generously covered in meat. I ordered beef, chicken and lamb. My favourite was the lamb and it had a beautiful caramelisation. The chicken and beef sticks were also very juicy. Pair all of these with the provided peanut sauce for a nutty touch and a winning combination! Definitely one of the better satays I've tried. I will come back!
