Located at Golden Mile Food Centre - probably one of the best hawker centres there is in Singapore - you can hardly miss this stall.

Not only it's brandished with the big letters of 'Lor Mee', it's also usually spotted with a long queue. During peak hours, be prepared to wait for at least 20minutes for your turn to order your food. For non-peak hours, it also usually takes about 5-10minutes.

Orders for this dish is rather standard - not much of choosing what kind of noodles you desire - unless it really irks you and if the stall owners do sell it. Options for spicy and usually vinegar is what you can choose from. Don't expect stall owners to be uber friendly to you as they are rather busy with getting the orders right.

My only note when eating Lor Mee is that you come prepared, clothes wise. Advice to not wear light-coloured clothing for if the sauce gets to your clothes, not the most pleasing black dot on your clothes.

What to look out for when having a bowl of Lor Mee would be the noodles, the taste of the gravy and yes, the chilli.

For the noodles, this stall had a nice chewy texture and it doesn't lump altogether - which makes coating the noodles great. For the gravy, it is thick. Super gooey and savoury, leaning towards a little too salty though. Even with the chilli and heaps of garlic added in, I'd say it was a little salty for my liking.

In terms of portion, it's more than enough for one. It's also a kind of dish that probably doesn't go over 1 bowl for it can get too rich for one. Good for a craving, but not something to eat every day.

If the craving comes up, this stall is worth the wait.
