Located at Havelock Road Food Centre, Shan Braised Duck specialises in, as its name, duck.
The brand has been here for years and it's one of the more popular spots in the Tiong Bahru area that sells duck. It was also rated as Singapore's Best Food in 2017.
Here, diners can expect to find dishes like braised duck noodles, braised duck porridge and of course, braised duck rice. If you wish to bring back a whole braised duck, that is available too!

When I arrived at the hawker centre one rainy day, many shops were closed at except Shan Braised Duck.
Apart from their popular braised duck, I had also wanted to try their kway chap, but unfortunately, that item was so popular that it was sold out for the day.
In the end, I eventually settled for a plate of duck rice. Simple but so so delicious. The rice is coated in dark gravy sauce which packs flavour with every bite. Paired with the tender slices of duck, this was such a satisfying dish at such a low cost of $3. Truly value-for-money and a must-try if you're in the area.
