Famous Seng Heng Family Restaurant has been around for years but isn't as known as other prawn mee shops in the west. Which is a shame because their prawn mee is on par, if not better, than many places in Singapore.

It is located at Yuhua Market & Food Centre and is tucked away in a quiet corner of the hawker centre.

The stall has a very basic menu. Either prawn noodles that is soup or dry, or pork ribs prawn noodles that is soup or dry. They aren't very crowded on weekends save for a few regular customers, so you don't have to worry about long queues.

I arrived around 12pm on a weekend afternoon and there were a few regular customers patronising the stall.

My food was prepared fast and I got the pork ribs prawn noodle dry. I always opt for dry when it comes to prawn noodles because you always get a bowl of their soup on the side either way, so it's the best of both worlds!

Noodle-wise, I got the bee hoon because I feel like the taste of the sauce can shine through better, unlike with yellow noodles.

There is something very special about the sauce used here at Famous Seng Heng Family Restaurant. It is spicy but packed with plenty of umami as well! The pork ribs here are also massive and meaty with an excellent fat to meat ratio. While the prawns are on the smaller side, these are peeled for your eating pleasure.
