Heng Heng Cooked Food first was listed in the Michelin Bib Gourmand list in 2021 and has maintained the title till today.

The stall at the bustling Yuhua Village has been around for over 30 years and is run by an elderly duo.

They sell only two dishes - prawn noodles and laksa - at different price points. The food is prepared fresh daily and you can watch them work their magic in the kitchen as you wait four your food.

Do be warned that queues during lunch can be extremely long so come early to avoid disappointment!

Signature

Laksa, Prawn Mee

I have tried to visit the stall numerous times but it was always closed but one Saturday morning, I was lucky enough to try their food!

I reached around 12pm and the queue was extremely long. I ended up waiting a solid 35 minutes for my food! I ordered both a bowl of prawn noodles and laksa.

The prawn noodles were on the lighter side and the broth had a nice umami taste thanks to the prawns. You can choose what kind of noodles you want too and I got kway teow and bee hoon.

What was even better was the laksa. This is one of the better laksas I've had in Singapore. The broth was creamy, rich and spicy, pairing well with the noodles. The owner is also very generous with the amount of cockles they give so I was really happy about that!

So, was it worth the queue? I sure think so and will definitely come back again. But next time, I will come down earlier.
