Located at Yuhua Village Market & Food Centre all the way in the West, Ron Sheng Fish Head has been in the market for years. They have one of the longest queues there, even during off peak hour. The original owners of the stall don’t come down often anymore but their workers still continue to work hard to churn out piping hot bowls of fish soup for hungry customers. They have quite a variety of dishes with the more popular ones being, of course, their fish soups, and just like many fish soup stores in Singapore, they have both steamed fish and fried fish options.

I personally feel that this is quite an underrated gem in the West and I don’t see many people talking about it. This place has one of the best fried fish soup I’ve ever had in Singapore, no joke. I went down at around 4pm and yet there was still quite a long queue even though most of the hawker centre was empty. Upon receiving my food, I was surprised to see that the portion size was massive and the bowl was loaded with bee hoon and pieces of fish. Their mixed fish option is not obviously displayed on their so you have to personally request for it upon ordering. It’s a tad bit more expensive than simply just getting one type of fish but I highly recommend it. The fried fish, despite being soaked in the milky soup for quite some time, managed to stay very crispy and it is honestly one of the best fried fish i’ve had in Singapore. Their sliced fish was great too and did not have an overly fishy smell which can be quite off-putting.
