Famous Old Airport Road Fried Oyster has been in the hawker scene for decades and is usually mixed up with the other oyster omelette stall nearby.
Hence, the stall has the notice "buy original say no to copy" at the front of the sign, insisting that it is the original stall in the market.
Nonetheless, both stalls still receive steady streams of customers and are popular, especially during meal times.
The menu here is simple, you can either get oyster omelette, prawn omelette or sotong omelette. Can't chose? Then get the three-in-one option which comes with all ingredients and is pretty value-for-money, especially if you're sharing this with a group of people.
As I was sharing this with my dining companion (and also had a hard time choosing, I got the three-in-one option.
And boy did I not regret this. The hefty omelette was laced with massive chunks of prawns, oysters and squid — every mouthful had some form of ingredient! Definitely worth the $8 I paid. In hindsight, $8 is quite affordable for the amount of food we got!
The egg itself was both crispy and slightly soft and paired well with the various seafood. But I must warn you to not try and attempt to conuer this yourself — it can get very cloying! But it admittedly is oh-so-addictive.
