Changi Ji Gourmet was founded by an elderly grandmother who has since passed on the family business to her three children.
The selling point about the stall is how cheap the prices are, especially in this economy.
With just $1.20, you can get a plate of either economical bee hoon, economical fried mee or fish & peanut porridge. And getting all three will only set you back by less than $4! So much value!
The stall opens really early in the morning at 6.30am, making it a light and good breakfast option. They close around 2pm so you can enjoy their food for an early lunch too!
I came around 1pm on a weekend afternoon and thankfully, there was not too much of a crowd.
I ordered the bee hoon, which was plain with no ingredients. For just $1.20, I got a substantial amount of noodles! These were cooked well and were al dente. They were also not too salty nor bland.
While the portion size is decent for the price paid, I was still a little hungry after, so I recommend getting another one of their dishes (the fish & peanut porridge or the economical fried mee) if you're extra hungry and want something filling. Either that, you can pair their food with other food from other stalls!
