An astounding favourite, Lian He Ben Ji Claypot uses its traditional method of cooking, serving piping hot Claypot Rice that is made upon order!
Long-established in Chinatown Complex Food Centre for about 40 years. In fact, they used to have another stall in another hawker centre, so altogether they have 70 years of expertise under their belt. Currently run by the Second-Generation business owner.
Their Mixed Rice with sausages and chicken is their most popular item on the menu! Priced at $8, $10, $12, $15, $20, according to portion size.
Mix well with the stringy black sauce and little bit of oil. Highly-acclaimed by Michelin and Makansutra, definitely worth a visit!
For our fellow travellers, this is a must-visit.

Mixed Rice

It was so crowded, even though I went there past 8pm. Waited for 30 minutes after ordering, I haven't waited so long at a hawker stall before! During peak hours you might have to wait for up to 1 hour. The tao-kay recommended that we ordered the $12 portion for two people to share, and it was just right. Apparently you have to mix the black sauce and the oil by yourself, but the tao-kay helped us mixed them together as we didn't know what to do. Huge chunks of chicken, the sausage was slightly sweet. Some of the sausages were marinated in the thick black sauce.
Most Claypot stalls have a uniquely distinct flavour, but this particular stall serves classic Claypot Rice that is palatable. I think Japanese individuals would like this taste. I loved the burnt edge at the bottom and sides of the rice, crispy and delicious. Don't wait too long, before the bottom gets entirely burnt! I heard that they also serve delicious soup, but I couldn't make it in time before it was sold out, so do order it while you can!
