While they are currently located in Shunfu Market and Food Centre, Heng Heng previously used to be at lake view food centre for a few years before moving to their present space. In 2018, they also received the Singapore’s Best Food award. Their popiah is well-loved and is rolled freshly right upon your very eyes upon order! To avoid disappointment, do note that they don’t sell popiah on Fridays so don’t come down on that day!
Apart from popiah, they also specialise in bowls of minced meat noodles and fishball noodles in dry or soup form. You can also get fishcake and fishball here if you aren’t feeling noodles.
While the fishball noodles were temping, I opted to get just the popiah and happily watched the person manning the stall roll it up — so satisfying to watch!
The popiah, as expected, was very fresh and came stuffed with ingredients like bean sprouts, peanuts, turnip, lettuce, carrots and eggs, so each bite is filled with plenty of flavour and crunch. For just $1.50 a pop, it’s extremely worth it, especially since it's so filling as well! If you love their popiah and want to make it yourself at home, they also sell DIY popiah sets — very convenient!
