This is one of the more popular stalls at Tiong Bahru market and they never fail to have snaking long queues, especially during meal times. They’ve been in the roast meat scene since 1969 and the Cantonese family-run business that has already been passed down by four generations. They first started out as a humble push cart stall before eventually being forced by the government to move to a hawker centre to have a physical stall. They sell an array of roast meat dishes that are paired with carbs like rice and noodles.
I've been eating here for years and my standard order here is always the Char Siew with Roasted Pork Rice ($4). Each plate comes with a bed of rice topped with slices of char siew and crispy pork belly that is doused in a viscous savoury dark gravy. I really like the rice here which is very fluffy and pillowy. The pork also had a good meat to fat and skin ratio so every mouthful has a good bite. The char siew also has a great caramelisation and isn't too charred. A very simple but tasty dish; the queues are worth it!
