Yuan Ji Fishball Noodles has been around for years and was one of the more popular stalls in the market.

The elderly owners had sold the fishball noodles for decades and the stall would garner snaking long queues that could last up to 20 minutes.

But they decided to retire a years months back and they sold the business to a Chinese lady.

The stall's menu remains relatively unchanged and still sells hearty bowls of fishball noodles that are prepared on the spot. The only other available option is mushroom minced pork noodles which is either served dry or in soup form.

When I visited the stall one weekday afternoon, I didn't have to queue as I was the only customer.

My food was prepared pretty quickly and I got it in under two minutes.

While the fishballs are an important element for a good bowl of fishball noodles, so are the noodles. I detest soggy, mushy noodles and it really spoils the dish for me. Thankfully, that was not the case here and my noodles were springy with a good bite.

And the fishballs themselves were really good but I am not sure if they are homemade. Either way, there were bouncy, slightly sweet and had a good bite.
