Signature

Crispy Prawn Cracker, Ngoh Hiong

Ngoh Hiang is one of my favourite Singaporean dishes, but this is my first time eating Ngoh Hiang at a store that solely specializes in the dish! Seems like many of their regular customers ordered it with Bee Hoon, so I ordered Bee Hoon and a few types of Ngoh Hiang to try. Each for 1 to 2 dollars only! As the aunty generously cut big chunks of Ngoh Hiang on my plate, I thought to myself, “Can I eat all of this?”. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how crispy it was, exactly like the aunty said, it was less oily than I thought it’d be! The Chili Sauce that came on the side went so well with the Ngoh Hiang that I couldn’t resist. The filling was not finely minced, so just imagine biting into the savoury pork chunks… Since they freshly fry the lap cheong and fishball separately, I enjoyed the crispy taste. The Prawn Cracker is thicker and has a moist centre. For patrons who prefer a crispy taste, the Crispy Prawn Cracker might better suit your tastebuds.
