Don't underestimate this stall, that sells buns and bread to its customers. It's usually spotted with a queue, people looking for either a snack, a light bite, or getting bread for their breakfast the day after.
All the breads and buns are baked in-house, daily for freshness. It's not easy to compete with big chain shops out there, and to have one that a hawker centre - you'd be surprised, that it is a popular stall among patrons.
There is a wide variety of flavours of buns - from the fan-favourite like sausage buns or egg tarts, to more unique stuff like durian buns, cream puffs and even coconut-flavoured items. There are also loafs of bread for you to bring it home and enjoy it as a family.
The stall owners are very friendly and when queues are not too long, they will even chat up with you to recommend you some stuff. By the looks of how they chat with the older customers, you can tell that they have been a well-loved stall among the patrons here.
As someone who loves bread, the only thing I would change is to head there earlier and not wait till I've had my lunch to get some bread and buns home.
Said to be made from Japanese wheat, it explains the soft and chewy texture of the bread. The best kind of bread is taken warm, and while I didn't manage to get it right off the oven, I still felt it was definitely better than chain stores out there.
I got the cheese bread and custard bun. The cheese bread is very soft and fluffy, and when pulled, you can see the layers of wheat that was made. The cheese was definitely on the sweet side, but complemented well with the bread.
The custard, however was a lot sweeter and because this was a puff compared to the normal kind of bread texture, I felt it wasn't as good as what I was expecting. It was a little harder and stickier when taken the next day.
Will be back for more to try the other flavours and ingredients.
