The shop has been running since 1967, and is Hainanese owned by Mr. Moh. The eatery first became popular in the 70's. One recipe he concocted himself is based on char siew, it can rightfully be claimed a Hainanese-styled dish.

long queque for lunch time

Once our freshly made meal arrived to the table, I was a bit lost for words. It was as if we were in a proper restaurant! The meat was tastefully decorated and layered on the plate; consisting of fatty chashu, traditional roasted juicy chicken breast, and salted char siew. The rice was puffy and fragrant alongside a steaming hot bowl of broth, which I found could be a bit more seasoned. Honestly one of the best chicken rice I've had in Singapore, every aspect of the meal was exceptionally proportional and tasteful, big chunks of 3 different types of beautiful meat and the fragrant warm rice, for $13, it was enough to feed 3 mouths! I was astonished on how long the line was - probably up to 10 customers at any given moment during our visit! This is in my personal top 10 list.
