Old Tong Kee [Closed]
Old Tong Kee started their first outlet over 5 years ago in Whampoa. To this day, it currently has 2 other outlets located at Owen Road & Boon Lay. The outlet in Whampoa roasts their meat using a gas flame, if you prefer a charcoal-style of cooking - head to their Owen outlet. The stall also manages to roast their pork skin in a way that is not salty at all, unlike other places.

The wanton mee came at a large portion, with a generous handful of light yellow noodles, boiled dark green veggies, small slices of sweet tender charsiew meat, and a bowl of warm flavourful clear broth with meaty soup dumplings. I appreciated sampling the array of meats that they roast, which were all very moist with a deep golden roasted skin to all of them. The roasted pork was especially tender and surprisingly not salty at all - which made it more appealing. The duck meat had a particular taste to it that tasted similar to liver. And the dark sweet sauce that marinated the charsiew slices was tasted thoroughly through the meat. The stall makes a filling and pleasant meal at a good price.
