5 Star Corner Western Food has been around for over 20 years and is located in a nondescript coffee shop at Hougang Blk 805. All their menu items are kept below $10 despite the generous, massive portions and you can expect menu items like chicken chop, black pepper lamb, sirloin steak, and fish & chips. What makes them special is that some of their dishes, like the chicken chop, are served on a hot plate, which makes the meal more exciting — you don't see things served on hot plates very often!
5 Star Corner Western Food truly serves some 5 star quality western food! I got myself the chicken chop and it came served on their famous hotplate and was accompanied with sides like onions, a whole baked potato, sliced bread with butter, mixed vegetables and beans. Definitely a huge portion for one person! The chicken was very tender and juicy — I could easily cut it open with my knife! It was also drenched in an addictive black pepper sauce that added a subtle spicy kick to the dish. I also took sneaky bites of my friend’s pork chop and was shocked by how tender it was! Definitely one of the better western stalls I’ve visited and despite being a little out of the way for me, I can foresee myself coming here again.
