Located at Jalan Pinang, which is about a 15-minute walk from Bugis station, Earlybird Café is situated along a row of cafes, quaint shops as well as eateries. There are outdoor and indoor seating for those who seek some airconditioned area or an alfresco dining.

In the interior of the café, there are paintings of birds, little bird sculptures and figurines – probably this much you’ll get to a bird-themed café. The café is owned by the team behind Revelry and expect some rather good variety of food.

Earlybird café is said to serves up one of the best Chicken and Pancakes, doused with their house-made chilli maple syrup. Other than this unique main dish, there are other fusion-styled dishes like Tom Yum Prawn Pasta, Steak and Truffle Mash, along with your standard coffee and tea options.

In terms of price, I’d say Earlybird is a little pricey compared to the other cafes you’ll see around the area, but it is after all, a nice place to chill and sit around for nice chit chats with friends and family. Additionally, this should be in your list for your next brunch café-hopping list.

I went during a brunch time on a weekday and there wasn’t a crowd or a queue. I didn’t even have to wait for a table, but I would say the stream of people do come in quite a while during the afternoon, so do come early to avoid waiting for tables.

I got the Truffle Shrooms served in a crossiant with vegetables and scrambled eggs on the side. Quite a hearty meal and definitely a very generous portion for one. The truffle wasn’t overpowering, which it’s great, especially when paired with sauteed mushrooms and a nicely-toasted croissant. The grated cheese also gives a nice overall touch to the overall palate. Creamy and smooth scrambled eggs on the side gives an added texture and density to the nice brunch meal.

If you aren’t into coffee and tea, there are milkshake, juices and smoothie options as well.
