A spot to enjoy reasonably-priced Unagi in Singapore!
Located in between Outram Park and Tanjong Pagar, expect long queues during peak hours at this Michelin-featured store.
Only the main branch has fish tanks with live Unagi, which is imported once to twice a week from Kagoshima Prefecture.
Unagi is freshly cut, char-grilled and served in 2 styles; Hitsumabushi (comes with fresh Wasabi) and Unagi Don.
The Hitsumabushi comprises of Unagi served on rice, and 2-3 plates that have garnish, dashi (soup stock), pickles and a separate bowl to split your bowl of Unagi into smaller portions.

Do come around 8.30pm if you want to enter without queueing! I had to wait for 20 minutes on a weekday evening at around 7.50pm.
Unagi does not have any fishy smell, and the crispy outside and fluffy meat won me over.
The fresh wasabi (which I grated myself) went well with the Unagi.
Perfect for surviving Singapore's daily hot weather as a stamina booster!
To be able to enjoy this flavour at the same price as eating it in Japan is a huge plus!
