Blanco Court Beef Noodles started all the way back in 1979 offering beef noodles at the now defunct Blanco Court hawker centre. The business is now ran by the 3rd generation, offering a larger variety of dishes and has expanded to a 5 outlets in Singapore. The baseline beef noodles recipe remains unchanged, but it has been tweaked throughout the years to suit the modern tastebuds.

The soup is constantly simmered for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with constant top-up of water and ingredients to ensure the broth - made up of beef bones, vegetables and homemade spices - tastes sweet and flavourful. Even the chilli is homemade, which has been mixed with the beef broth to give that extra punch.

We had mainly the soup dishes - the signature Superior Beef Noodles and Sliced Beef Noodles. I would think the Superior Beef Noodles is rather worth it if you enjoy tendons, beef tripe and shanks because the portion is enough for one person and you get to enjoy a variety of ingredients.

The soup was rich and had an intense aroma and flavour. I especially enjoyed the springy beef tripe and the homemade beef balls which were tender and chewy, and complemented the dish really well. However I would opt for a dry beef noodles in the future so as to taste the ‘pure’ bowl of soup, which would be a more concentrated broth.
