Located in the swanky mall - Jewel, this rather elevated ice cream boutique store is always seen with lots of people queuing up for a scoop of this Michelin-Recommended ice cream. Known for its creation of botanical gelato, with flavours that link to nature (hence the name) like fruits, flowers, herbs and spices.
This gelato parlour is located within the In Good Company store and the menu for it changes - so be sure to head online to make sure your favourite flavour is on sale. Gelato are generally less sweet and perhaps a little healthier without the use of artificial colourings or flavourings. For the ones in Singapore, the company even took culinary cues from South East Asia to infuse into their ice cream such as basil and blue ginger.
There are both wafer cone and cup options and I’ll definitely recommend going for the cone option as it is made daily. You can even spot an employee making it on the spot via a small see-through area.
Price-wise, it’s definitely a little more expensive, but if it’s once in while, it’s a worthy indulgent treat.
I wouldn’t call myself a fan of ice cream, but after hearing so much hype over this ice cream parlour, I was really excited to try the flavours. Despite the long queue - probably over 30 people in front of me, I thought the time waited wasn’t too terrible. It was rather quick, about 15 minutes of waiting time.
I ordered two of their best-selling flavours - Lychee Raspberry and the Sea Salt Hojicha, one on a cup and one on a cone. I throughly enjoyed it an glad the two flavours - though different - complement each other very well. Each scoop is aesthetically pleasing, with the scoop in a very circular sphere that just looks picture-perfect.
The Lychee Raspberry is very light and fruity on the palate, a little sweet but overall it’s a very good quality of ice cream. The Hojicha is definitely heavier with rich earthy tones, but the sea salt elevates it with a nice salty note. The cone is crisp and rather fragrant and goes really well with both of the ice cream.
What a great dessert worth the wait.
