Specialising in local snacks such as kueh pi tee, muah chee and popiah, Fortune Food Popiah is your one-stop place for classic Sinaporean small bites All these foods are quickly handmade onsite once you make an order and you can even watch the staff do it for you.

During pre-covid days, you could also find them at events and markets such as the Singapore Food festival. Additionally, they were featured in many newspapers and media sites such as The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao and U-weekly. In 2009, they were even one of the 12 hawkers to receive the President’s Award for the Environment (PAE)!

Unlike other popiah stalls, they also encourage their customers to get creative and make their own popiah, kueh pi tea and even laksa with specially curated DIY kits that you can purchase on their website.

They have 7 outlets islandwide at places such as Albert Centre Market & Food Centre and Chinatown Complex Food Centre where the food will be made and prepared on the spot for you.

Signature

Popiah

I love kueh pi tee but these are not as readily available in hawker centres as much as I would like them to be. Thankfully, at Fortune Food Popiah, I can get these made for me freshly on the spot. For the uninitiated, Kueh Pi Tee is a local snack that comprises of a deep-fried "cup" that holds a myriad of ingredients such as cooked radish, minced egg, chopped peanuts and chilli. These are designed to fit into your entire mouth all at once so do stretch your mouth open wide! The ones here were done up exactly how I like them to be and are really up to standard! Do give the food here a try if you're curious to know what kueh pi tee tastes like!
