Ho-Bee Roasted Food has been pushing out plates of delicious roast meats for close to 22 years. For 8 years, they were located at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 but eventually moved to their current home at Ang Mo Kio 628 Market & Food Centre. Many laud it as one of the best roast meat spots in Singapore and they have to queue to testify to that! You can order their char siew, roast pork or duck individually with rice but if you can’t decide on what to opt for, go for the each person set which has a bit of everything. If you’re feeding a family, they also have a roast meat platter for $15 that is good for sharing.

Ho-Bee Roasted Food isn’t hard to spot and they perpetually have one of the longest queues in the food centre. I came at an off peak period (around 4pm) and was shocked to find that despite that, the queues here were still tremendously long and I waited a good 20 minutes before I managed to place an order. I ordered myself the Roasted Pork + Duck Rice and was very impressed with the food, especially the duck, which had an excellent fat to meat ratio. The roast pork was good as well and had a decent crackling skin. I also love how they provide a side of achar (pickled vegetables) at the side which helps to cut through the rich flavours of the pork. Is it worth the 20 minute queue? You bet it is!
